September 19 and 20, 2008  9-2:00        No admission Fee

The Seneca Woman's Club will host local quilter and and quilt history enthusiast, Verla Warther.  In 2002 she inherited a garbage bag of hand pieced quilt blocks from her mother-in-law.  There were five different patterns.  Since they were hand pieced she decided to hand quilt the finished quilts.  Ms. Warther will have a quilt frame set up with one of these quilts in progress.  She will display some of these quilts that she has completed along with another hand quilt done by her great-grandmother, Alabama Belle, Speegle Hinman,in 1880.  She will wear Civil War dress and do living history quilting by sitting at the quilt frame, while quilting and visiting with people concerning their questions and stories that they have related to quilting.

Other family quilts from Seneca Woman's Club members will be on display.  Light refreshments will be served.
